The England cricket team made a glorious l victory of 197 runs over the Australian cricket team in the fifth and the final test, won the Ashes series 2-1.
The Aussies were put in a 546 runs target to win but they could fetch to get only 348 runs. Though Hussey , with a brilliant century of 121 runs and captain Ricky Ponting , 66 tried hard.
Ricky Ponting became the second Australian captain under whom the Australian team was defeated the series twice in a foreign soil .A century ago. The same was achieved by first tour Captain Billy Mordoch.
