A new born baby having heart outside the chest undergoes a complex surgery in All India Institute of medical sciences(AIIMS).According to the cardiothoracic head Dr Bisnoi, the infected blood been replaced from the body and the heart been covered with synthetic membrane.
The baby was just four years old and brought from the remote areas of nepal border.The baby is having hole in his heart and faces a very rare condition called as ectopia cordis in which the chest fails to cover up the heart completely.
But surprisingly the baby is now also alive with such complex situation.The doctors are planning for mazor surgery where the heart will be put into the chest .
In 2006 also a similar case occurs in US florida in which the doctors wrapped the heart with Gore-tex, water proof breathable fibre.This was carried out on Naseem hasni.
